After a long period of preparation, construction and obtaining the necessary certifications and grants, the official first training of Square Academy at our AC Materials site at Kluizendok was in early March.
We have converted an undeveloped piece of land there into the base of operations of our Square Academy, where our colleagues can take hands-on training courses ranging from concreting, to placing house connections, to working with a cherry picker. On the training grounds, different zones are provided for practicing certain techniques. For example, there is an area for rolling, for sewers, for footpaths... In addition, there is also a training area inside.
Our internal training center, Square Academy, was created to give all our colleagues opportunities to learn. Both new starters and colleagues who have been with us for years will attend training there. As learning technologies and methods evolve over the years, we regularly organize refresher courses. In this way, we ensure that all teams work to the same practices and standards and we can guarantee consistent quality.
What makes Square Academy extra special is that the training courses are given by our own colleagues. Thanks to their years of experience, they not only know the theory, but they also know perfectly how things work on the shop floor. This practical knowledge is an enormous added value for everyone working for us!
